Signal Hill said April 11 that Dan Graves has joined its New York office as a Managing director. He joins Signal Hill’s Sponsor Coverage group and will draw on his relationships in media. Previously, Graves founded Spinnaker Capital Advisors.

Mr. Graves will join Signal Hill’s Sponsor Coverage group and draw on his strong relationships over a long career in the media industry to grow Signal Hill’s traditional media practice.

Mr. Graves brings more than 25 years of investment banking expertise to Signal Hill and has executed transactions valued at more than $40 billion on behalf of a broad range of clients. In 2004, Mr. Graves founded Spinnaker Capital Advisors (SCA), an advisory firm focused on the M&A and capital raising needs of middle market media companies. During his 11 years of operating SCA, Mr. Graves participated in more than $650 million of M&A, capital raising and financial advisory transactions. Earlier in his career, Mr. Graves was employed in the media investment banking practices of Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, and Salomon Brothers. He holds a B.S. in Finance and Management Science & Statistics from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
