Some of you might remember that I moderated something called “The Great Debates” at Buyouts East earlier this year, in which Kevin Conway of CD&R and Andrew Sorkin of the New York Times duked it out. Good times.
Well, I’ll be participating in the West Coast version on November 14 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco – but as a debater rather than as a moderator. So much better, because it requires so much less preparation.
Mark Cecil of Buyouts Magazine will serve as moderator, while I match rhetorical wits with: Kelvin Davis, senior partner and head of North American buyouts with TPG; John Adler, director of private equity for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU); and Monte Brem, founder and CEO of StepStone Group.
Besides the Great Debates, Buyouts West also will include keynotes from former AOL CEO Barry Schuler, Hamilton Lane chairman Hartley Rogers, Gores Group founder Alex Gores and Leonard Green managing partner Peter Nolan.
