Greycroft Partners said Wednesday that it has promoted Ellie Wheeler to principal effective immediately. Wheeler, who previously worked at Summit Partners, will remain based in the firm’s New York office.

Greycroft Partners LLC, a venture capital firm that specializes in Internet and media investments headquartered in New York and Los Angeles, is pleased to announce the promotion of Ellie Wheeler to Principal effective immediately. Ellie will continue to be based in the New York office along with Managing Partner and Founder, Alan Patricof, Partner and Co-Founder, Ian Sigalow, and Partner John Elton.

At Greycroft Partners, Ellie has been a vital part of several deals and currently is responsible for eight companies within Greycroft’s portfolio. Three of the core companies with which she is associated have recently completed additional financings, and in each she has played an important role. She sits on the board of BaubleBar and Plain Vanilla and is an Observer at NuOrder, Fisoc, and others.

Ellie joined Greycroft Partners in 2011, following her graduation from Harvard Business School. Just prior to joining Greycroft, Ellie expanded her venture capital experience during her second year of business school by evaluating investment opportunities at Lowercase Capital with investor Chris Sacca. She also interned during business school, she spent a summer working with DN Capital in the UK identifying and reviewing seed and early stage consumer Internet and digital media investments. Before starting at Harvard, Ellie worked for two years on Cisco’s Corporate Development team and worked on the firm’s overall corporate strategy and investment analysis. She began her career at Summit Partners.
