Gridiron Capital LLC sold its portfolio company ESP/SurgeX, a manufacturer of energy intelligence and power protection solutions, to AMETEK Inc. Financial terms were not disclosed. Lincoln International and BNP Paribas acted as joint advisors for the transaction and Ropes & Gray LLP provided legal counsel.
New Canaan CT, February 8, 2016 — Gridiron Capital, LLC, a U.S. based private equity investment firm, is pleased to announce the sale of one of its portfolio companies, ESP/SurgeX, a leading manufacturer of energy intelligence and power protection solutions, to AMETEK, Inc. The transaction closed January 21, 2016.
Since Gridiron Capital’s initial investment in 2008, ESP/SurgeX grew significantly expanding its technology and product offerings and entering several new end markets, making the Company a leader in its industry. The Company completed two strategic acquisitions, SurgeX and SurgeX International, enhancing the Company’s technologies and product offering, which further strengthened ESP/SurgeX’s ability to deliver high value products to its customers.
