Hellman & Friedman Takes Minority Stake in Vehicle History Reporter CarProof

CarProof, a London, Ontario-based provider of comprehensive used vehicle history reports, has sold a minority investment stake to U.S. private equity firm Hellman & Friedman. The financial terms of the transaction were not published. Carproof was established in 2000. Hellman & Friedman also recently agreed to acquire Canadian-born insurance brokerage Hub International Ltd. for approximately US$4.4 billion from Apax Partners and Morgan Stanley Principal Investments.

LONDON, ON, Aug. 19, 2013 /CNW/ – CarProof, Canada’s largest and most trusted national vehicle history report provider, today announced the sale of a minority stake in the company to Hellman & Friedman, a San Francisco-based private equity investment firm with offices in London, New York and San Francisco.
