HgCapital, a pan-European mid-market private equity firm, has bolstered its renewable energy team with two new appointments.
Luigi Pettinicchio joins as an associate from Goldman Sach’s investment banking division in London, where he focused on European power utilities and renewables. Before that, he was at McKinsey & Company in Milan.
Luis Quiroga joins as an associate from Credit Suisse, where he worked in the European energy group, and before that at BCG.
The hires bring HgCapital’s renewables team to seven energy infrastructure specialists, led by Tom Murley.
HgCapital invests in the sector through its €300m Hg Renewable Power Partners fund, which invests in wind power, biomass, landfill gas, waste, hydro, geothermal and solar technologies. The fund is currently 50% committed and includes the Havsnas Wind Farm in Sweden.
