Honigman adds private equity lawyer as a partner

Business law firm Honigman has named Norbert Knapke as a partner in its Chicago office. Knapke will serve as a member of the firm’s corporate department and private equity group. Previously, Knapke worked at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.


CHICAGO (April 2, 2018) – Honigman announced today that Norbert Knapke has joined the firm as a partner in its Chicago office. He will serve as a member of the firm’s Corporate department and Private Equity practice group.

Knapke’s practice focuses on counseling private equity firms and operating companies on various transactional matters, such as acquisitions, recapitalizations, divestitures, financings and governance. He joins Honigman’s Chicago office from Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he worked on matters ranging from private and public target acquisitions, growth equity investments, initial public offerings, structuring executive compensation plans and debt financings.

Knapke earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Duke University School of Law. He graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A.
