Igor Ivanov Joins Altimo’s International Advisory Board

Global telecoms investor Altimo has appointed minister Igor Sergeyevich Ivanov to its international advisory board. Ivanov is the president of the Russian International Affairs Council and a professor at Moscow State Institute of International Relations.

Altimo, one of the leading international investors in the global telecom markets, is pleased to announce the appointment of Minister Igor Sergeyevich Ivanov to its International Advisory Board.

Igor S. Ivanov is the President of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) and a Professor at Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
Minister Ivanov holds the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. From 1991 to 1993, he represented the USSR and then Russia as Ambassador to Spain.
Minister Ivanov was appointed the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Russia in September 1998, a position which he held until 2004 when he was appointed by President Vladimir Putin to the post of the Secretary of the Security Council. Minister Ivanov held this post until 2007.

Minister Ivanov serves on the board of directors of a number of organisations, including the Nuclear Threat Initiative, United Nations Foundation and the Luxembourg Forum on Preventing Nuclear Catastrophe. He is the Advisor of the Institute of Modern International Relations of Tsinghua University, has a Ph.D. in history and he is a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
