Jobs of the week: Carlyle, Bowside, UPS, Vanderbilt University are hiring

Fairmount Partners is looking to add managing directors and directors to its suburban Philadelphia team. The firm is specifically targeting senior investments bankers who have at least 10 years of experience and a demonstrated track record of attracting clients and successfully completing transactions for those clients. Bowside Capital is seeking a vice president for its investment team. Responsibilities include identifying and selecting primary, secondary and direct private equity investment opportunities, conducting due diligence on such opportunities and monitoring completed investments. Candidates should have at least eight years of relevant work experience at a fund of funds, secondary fund or private equity fund.

Also, the firm wants to hire a vice president of finance/chief compliance officer. Duties include all accounting, investor reporting and administration of compliance and reporting for Bowside’s private equity funds. Candidates should have significant experience at an investment fund, a fund administrator or national accounting firm serving private equity funds and their related portfolio investments. The Carlyle Group is recruiting for a manager of GMS private equity funds. In this role, the hire will manage and execute the fund operations of the GMS PE funds. This position is focused on investor reporting, portfolio valuation, transaction structuring and corporate reporting in addition to supporting the fundraising process. A minimum of six to eight years’ experience is required. The job is in New York City.

Vanderbilt University is hiring an investment manager for its Nashville office. Working in conjunction with the managing directors and investment analysts, the hire will globally source and meet with prospective and existing public and/or private market investment managers. As needed, he or she will coordinate and perform onsite manager visits. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree and five years of experience.

Periscope Equity is interviewing for an associate based in the greater Chicago area. Duties include sourcing and reviewing new transaction opportunities as well as conducting sub-sector market research. The hire will assist in transaction due diligence and the overall underwriting process. Candidates should have one to three years of investment banking or private equity experience.

UPS Group Trust is interviewing for two senior analysts (one private equity; the other private markets) for its Atlanta office. The analysts will review and analyze portfolio performance reports for specific asset classes to highlight areas of over- and under-performance and to identify areas requiring in-depth analysis. He or she will provide support for monitoring investment performance with established metrics to ensure investments perform as expected, enable timely corrective action and minimize negative exposure.
