KKR Adds Two MDs

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. has apppointed Claire Scobee Farley and David Rockecharlie, founders of RPM Energy, as Managing Directors.

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (together with its affiliates, “KKR”) today announced that Claire Scobee Farley and David Rockecharlie, founders of RPM Energy LLC (“RPM”), will join the firm as Managing Directors, effective November 1, 2011.

Prior to joining KKR, Ms. Farley and Mr. Rockecharlie co-led and co-founded RPM, a privately-owned oil and gas exploration and development company that KKR partnered with in 2010 to target opportunities to support E&P companies in the large unconventional resource plays.

Commenting on the appointments, Marc Lipschultz, Global Head of KKR’s Energy & Infrastructure business, said, “We are delighted to welcome these leading experts more formally to KKR and are excited to further expand our energy and infrastructure efforts. In addition to helping grow our existing businesses, Claire and David will help us build additional lines of business in the energy and infrastructure arena over time.”

With the appointment, KKR will be ending the separate build-up of RPM. RPM’s team of oil and gas experts will remain at RPM, and RPM will become an exclusive partner to KKR across the full range of KKR’s energy related businesses, with a focus on evaluating and managing asset-level investments in oil and gas.

The appointments further strengthen KKR’s growing energy and infrastructure business. KKR has been investing in the energy sector and the oil and gas sector, in particular, for more than twenty years, dating back KKR’s investment in Union Texas Petroleum in 1985. Today, KKR’s global energy and infrastructure business spans the globe and covers the full energy supply chain.
