Knox Joins Mayer Brown

Ann Richardson Knox has joined Mayer Brown in New York as a partner in the banking & finance practice. She was previously a partner with Haynes and Boone in New York.


Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced today that Ann Richardson Knox has joined the firm in New York as a partner in the Banking & Finance practice.
“Ann is highly regarded for her strong track record of representing US and foreign banks on myriad fund finance matters, particularly on subscription credit facilities for private equity, opportunity and mezzanine fund borrowers,” said partner David Duffee, New York practice leader of Mayer Brown’s Banking & Finance practice. “With more than 14 years of experience, Ann’s unique skill set will further deepen Mayer Brown’s capabilities in the subscription lending space and expand our ability to serve the complex needs of clients in New York and throughout our global network.”
Ms. Knox concentrates her practice on the negotiation and documentation of complex secured loans and financings on behalf of major financial institutions and non-traditional lenders around the world. She represents investment and commercial banks as lead agents and arrangers in providing structured credit facilities, mezzanine financings and commercial loans to: opportunity funds, energy funds and other entities seeking liquidity; real estate funds; corporations and funds seeking to leverage their portfolios; and other entities.
In addition, Ms. Knox represents alternative lenders such as private equity funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds and project finance lenders in: secured first and second lien credit facilities and note purchases; workouts and exit financings; and in the negotiation and structuring of acquisition and portfolio company financing in both friendly and hostile acquisitions.

Previously, Ms. Knox was a partner with Haynes and Boone in New York. She received her JD from Columbia University and earned a BS from Cornell University.
