L Catterton Asia backs Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality

L Catterton Asia has made an investment in India-based Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality, a operator of cafes and restaurants. No financial terms were disclosed.

Founded in 2001 by ace restaurateur Riyaaz Amlani, Impresario has a strong track record of creating unique and resilient “experiential” Food and Beverage brands that resonate with a young and aspirational segment of the population – making it the leading player in multi-brand casual dining in India.

Its flagship brand, Social, is a unique concept at the intersection of café, workplace, casual dining and pub/bar space. Since the establishment of its first outlet in 2014, Social has quickly grown to 17 outlets across three cities with potential to scale to top 20 cities in India and select markets abroad.
