Lawrence Portman has joined Rothschild as a managing director and head of consumer products for the Americas. He previously was head of Citigroup’s North American food and beverage practice.
Rothschild, one of the world’s leading specialists in providing corporations independent financial advice globally, announced today that Lawrence D. Portman has joined the firm as a Managing Director in New York and Head of Consumer Products for the Americas.
Most recently, Mr. Portman was at Citigroup where he was Head of its North American Food and Beverage practice. Prior to that, he was Head of European Consumer Products at Morgan Stanley.

Mr. Portman will be joining Michael Gottschalk, who will continue as Head of North American Consumer Products, as Rothschild continues to expand its global advisory practice. Mr. Portman will also join Mr. Gottschalk on the Executive Committee of the global co-operation established in 2008 between Rothschild and Rabobank to pursue M&A and Equity Capital Markets advisory in the food, drink and agricultural sectors.
