Lisa Stavro has been named a principal with Cardinal Americas Fund, a $150 million fund focused on private equity and infrastructure opportunities. She previously was senior vice president of First Bank of Beverly Hills.
Lisa Stavro, a 20 year veteran of structuring and negotiating complex financing transactions, has joined the Cardinal Americas Fund as a Principal. The Cardinal Americas Fund is a $150 million private equity fund established by leaders in private equity and infrastructure development, with offices in Los Angeles and Chicago.
Stavro brings seasoned private equity deal experience to Cardinal Americas, and will be involved in sourcing, structuring, and arranging financing for the Fund’s investment opportunities. She has a track record as a private equity principal and leveraged finance lender, having completed 50 middle market company financings valued at over $1.8 billion. Stavro called her move to Cardinal Americas an “obvious next step” for her, adding, “Investment in the infrastructure market undoubtedly represents an incredible growth opportunity, and Cardinal Americas has the precise strategy to capitalize on this growth.”
Cardinal Americas employs a comprehensive strategy of investing in the burgeoning infrastructure development market by targeting companies that provide resources surrounding infrastructure development, including architectural, construction, and engineering services firms, and equipment rental, operations and maintenance companies. Cardinal Americas’ team of principals has significant experience investing in infrastructure firms and growing businesses as owner-operators that are consistent with the investment profile and strategy of the Fund. Their wide network provides a first-hand understanding of the growing infrastructure marketplace with exposure to hundreds of investment opportunities per year with financial and strategic resources to close and exit deals successfully on behalf of their investors.
Stavro’s move to Cardinal Americas comes shortly after the addition of former LACERS General Manager, Robert Aguallo, Jr., as Managing Partner for the fund. Aguallo was pleased with the addition of Stavro, stating, “Her experience and tenacity will certainly add tremendous value to our investors, and perfectly complements our existing team of experts.”
Stavro’s transactional experience encompasses a wide variety of debt and equity financings including corporate acquisitions, management buyouts, recapitalizations and ESOPs. She comes to Cardinal Americas after serving as Senior Vice President for First Bank of Beverly Hills, overseeing its Beverly Hills Commercial Banking Group. She has previously worked at GE Corporate Finance, private equity firm Unique Investment Corporation, and as Senior Vice President and Manager for Bank of America’s Leveraged Finance Group. She has co-authored several publications including “Lending Considerations for ESOPs” in The Journal of Employee Ownership Law and Finance and “Valuing a Company: How Is It Done?” in the textbook publication The Complete Guide to a Successful Leveraged Buyout. Stavro holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a Masters in Business Administration specializing in Finance from Boston University where she graduated with Honors.
