Looking to Join a Global VC – e.ventures is Calling

This week global Internet investor e.ventures has a vacancy we thought it was worth showcasing. The position is for a senior controller who will be at the hub of the firm’s domestic and international investment fund administration.

e.ventures funds invest where “consumer Internet, media and mobile intersect”, according to the firm’s website. The firm has offices in San Francisco, Hamburg, Moscow, São Paulo, Tokyo and Beijing. Most recently the business launched a new venture capital fund Redpoint e.ventures which was unveiled in July with $130 million fund to invest in early stage tech companies in Brazil.

The fund recently announced its first deal in Brazil, committing to the Series A round of Minuto Seguros, an online insurance broker. The amount of the round was undisclosed, but it was believed to be less than $5 million.

e.ventures launched in California in 1998 as BV Capital. The business subsequently opened in Germany in 2001, Russia in 2009, Asia, also in 2009, and Brazil in 2012.

Landmark exits for the firm in US include Groupon, Angie’s List, and Shopping.com. In Europe, the firm has reaped rewards from Citydeal and KaufDa. In Russia selected exits include Sapato (Ozon) and Darberry (Groupon). And in Asia the firm has exited from lucrative deals such as Rekoo Japan and Qpod.

In the position of senior controller, the successful candidate will be heavily involved in the administration of domestic and international investment funds including cash management, capital calls, internal financial reporting and fair value valuation processes for e.ventures holdings.

Attention to detail will be critical as the senior controller is responsible for defining and executing e.ventures’ legal compliance policies, including but not limited to SEC filings, D&O, KYC procedures and internal controls. All of e.ventures’ processes were initially built for a one fund structure and have grown in such a way over the last decade that they will give the candidate plenty of room to apply creative structuring skills.

And should the above not be sufficient to fill a day’s work, the e.ventures team has specified that they would appreciate a hand in helping to efficiently tax structure their international investments.

Scroll down if you think you have the credentials to work for this fast-paced global VC especially if, as e.ventures puts it, “you love what you do and it’s infectious.”
