Generational Equity Announces Sale of Malabar Super Spice to Private Investment Group

DALLAS, April 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Generational Equity, a leading mergers and acquisitions advisor for privately held businesses, is pleased to announce the sale of its client, Malabar Super Spice Company Ltd. of Burlington, Ontario, to a private investment group located in Ontario, Canada. The acquisition closed January 31, 2017. Details were not disclosed.

Malabar Super Spice, founded in 1982, is a formulator and manufacturer of custom seasonings and a distributor of food ingredients, spices and sausage casings to the meat and poultry industry, as well as food processors across Canada. The company has a “AA” rated BRC Food Certified wholesale facility.

The Canadian private investment group that acquired Malabar was looking to enter the food industry by finding a company that had its own product line, and Malabar met the company’s criteria.

Generational Equity Managing Director Douglas Smith’s team, headed by trusted affiliate Mike Hammer with support from Generational Equity Vice Presidents Ryan Johnson and Musa Jagne, successfully closed the deal.

“Our client was well prepared after experiencing a Generational Equity conference years earlier,” said Hammer. “And the buyer group was knowledgeable in the industry which also helped close the transaction.”

“Mike Hammer provided the balance and focus needed to stay on course, and grounded the communication between all parties to minimize misunderstandings and possible conflicts, and the business is sold,” stated Doris Valade, President of Malabar Super Spice.
