May River-backed Hunt Valve acquires Montreal Bronze

Hunt Valve Co has acquired Montreal Bronze Ltd, a Terrebonne, Québec-based supplier of severe-duty bronze marine valves used in naval and commercial ships.

No financial terms were disclosed.

Established in 1985 and led by President David Bala, Montreal Bronze also provides bronze and alloy steel products for naval, pharmaceutical and nuclear applications.

Hunt Valve, a Salem, Ohio-based specialty valve maker, said the deal expands its product offering and provides access to additional U.S. Navy and international shipyards and industrial customers.

Hunt Valve was recapitalized last year by U.S. private equity firm May River Capital.

Hunt Valve is a specialty valve engineering and manufacturing company serving the United States Navy and industrial customers worldwide. Located in Terrebonne, Quebec, MB Valve supplies severe-duty bronze marine valves. The Company also has a large variety of special bronze and alloy steel products that meet specific performance requirements for U.S., Canadian and NATO-friendly Navy ships, pharmaceutical and nuclear applications.

Hunt Valve is a portfolio company of Chicago-based May River Capital, a private equity firm focused on lower middle-market industrial growth businesses. May River Capital completed a recapitalization of Hunt Valve Company in December 2018 by May River Capital Fund I, LP.
