Mid Europa Partners, the central European private equity firm, announced its 2011 promotions. Michelle Capiod has been promoted to director, with Andrej Babace and Robert Chmelar advancing to the associate director level, and Jan Krzewinski has been promoted to senior associate.

Michelle Capiod has been promoted to Director, with Andrej Babace and Robert Chmelar advancing to the Associate Director level, and Jan Krzewinski has been promoted to Senior Associate.

Michelle Capiod has been involved in numerous transactions at Mid Europa since joining the firm in 2003 including Aster, the Lux Med Group, Falcon, SBB, MobiFon, Oskar and most recently the exits from Aster and Calucem. Prior to joining Mid Europa, she worked at Merrill Lynch. Michelle received her BSc. in Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Andrej Babace joined Mid Europa Partners in 2006. He has had significant involvement with Mid Europa’s pay-TV portfolio, through the acquisitions of SBB and Telemach and the Aster exit, and has been involved in the portfolio management of these three investments. Prior to joining the team he worked in Citigroup’s Investment Banking Division in London. Andrej received his M.A. degree in Economics and Business from the University of Edinburgh.
Robert Chmelar joined Mid Europa in 2007 and has been involved in the acquisition of Fund III’s investment in Falcon (CRa and T-Mobile Czech Republic) and Energy 21, as well as monitoring of Mid Europa’s investment in Orange Austria. Most recently he participated in the sale of CRa. He worked in Citigroup’s Investment Banking divisions in London and South Africa, where he was focusing on M&A advisory across the CEEMEA region prior to joining the firm. Robert holds a MSc. in Finance from HEC in Paris and a BSc. from the University of Economics in Prague
Jan joined Mid Europa Partners in 2007, following his graduation from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies with an M.A. in International Relations. Since joining Mid Europa Jan has been involved in the acquisitions forming the Lux Med Group and is responsible for day-to-day monitoring of Falcon and the Lux Med Group. Jan received his B.Sc. in International Relations from the London School of Economics.
