Morgan Joseph Names Private Placement Chief

Jonathan Lowenberg has joined Morgan Joseph & Co. as a managing director and head of private placements. He previously served in a similar position with Merriman Curhan Ford.

Morgan Joseph & Co. Inc., a leading full-service investment banking firm serving middle market companies, today announced the appointment of Jonathan M. Lowenberg as a Managing Director and head of Private Placements.

“With his experience with both public companies and institutional investors, Jonathan is a valuable addition to our corporate finance team,” said Mary Lou Malanoski, head of Morgan Joseph’s investment banking department. “Over the past 20 years, Jonathan has successfully counseled a broad range of companies, providing them with financing options and strategies. His skills will add to our firm’s already strong capabilities serving middle market clients and private equity participants, hedge funds and other institutions.”

Mr. Lowenberg most recently was Managing Director-Head Private Placements at the boutique investment bank of New York-based Merriman Curhan Ford, which he joined in 2009. Previously, he held similar positions with Kaufman Bros., a technology boutique bank, and Natixis Bleichroeder Inc., a French based commercial and investment bank.

Among other assignments, Mr. Lowenberg also has been associated in senior positions with Think Equity Partners, where he headed the Alternative Capital Group; UBS, where he served as Executive Director of its Global Private Placement Group; and at Victory Ventures LLC. He holds an MBA in Executive Finance from New York University and a BBA from Emory University.
