NGP Energy Capital Management has promoted Tony R. Weber, Craig S. Glick and Christopher D. Ray from managing director to senior managing director. The appointments are effective immediately.
NGP Energy Capital Management, a leading private equity firm in the natural resources industry, is pleased to announce that Tony R. Weber, Craig S. Glick and Christopher D. Ray have been promoted from Managing Director to Senior Managing Director effective immediately.
Mr. Weber joined the firm in 2004 concentrating his efforts on sourcing, structuring and executing investments as well as capital markets transactions. His deep industry relationships and experience are vital resources to the firm where he assists in all transaction evaluation and monitoring efforts, serving as Chief Investment Coordinator. Prior to joining NGP, Mr. Weber was CFO of Merit Energy Company and SVP of Union Bank of California’s Energy Division in Dallas. He received a B.B.A. in Finance from Texas A&M University where he is a member of the Dean’s Council and a founding member of the Mays School of Business Fellows Program.
Mr. Glick joined NGP in 2008 and brings 26 years of legal and financial experience to the firm’s structuring and execution activities. Previously Mr. Glick served as Managing Director and General Counsel of NGP Midstream & Resources. Prior to joining NGP, Mr. Glick was a founding partner of Kosmos Energy Holdings and served as SVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. His previous tenures include Hunt Resources and Hunt Oil Company, Gulf Canada Resources, Limited and Torch Energy Advisors. Mr. Glick was a Partner in the law firm of Vinson & Elkins from 1985 to 1994 and has been a director of three publicly-traded companies, Parallel Energy Trust, Westside Energy, Inc. and Gulf Indonesia Resources. Mr. Glick continues to serve as Counsel to NGP in addition to his role as Senior Managing Director. He holds a B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from Tulane University and earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law.
Mr. Ray joined NGP in 2003 and continues to function as General Counsel to the firm in addition to his new role as Senior Managing Director. Mr. Ray applies his broad natural resources deal experience to ensure excellence in the structuring, negotiation and execution of transactions on behalf of both NGP and its portfolio companies. In addition, Mr. Ray participates in the firm’s decisions regarding capital allocation, monitoring and exits. Prior to joining NGP, Mr. Ray was a Partner in the law firm of Thompson & Knight, LLP. He practiced in the Corporate and Securities Group in Dallas for eight years, working on numerous investment and corporate financing transactions. Mr. Ray received a B.S. in Accounting with distinction and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia.
