PRESS RELEASE
Petsky Prunier LLC, an investment bank serving the marketing, information and digital media industries, is pleased to announce Norman D. Colbert has joined the firm as a partner and managing director to lead the firm’s Capital Markets and Private Placements practice and its west coast investment banking efforts. Mr. Colbert brings to Petsky Prunier nearly 20 years of experience in investment banking, having held senior leadership positions with both large, global financial institutions and entrepreneurial organizations focused on growth sectors of the economy.

Prior to joining Petsky Prunier, Mr. Colbert was the global head of JP Morgan’s Private Placements Group, where he managed dedicated offices in New York, San Francisco and London. While at JP Morgan, Mr. Colbert advised private and public companies on structuring and selling a wide range of private securities ranging from $10 million to more than $1 billion in value, including preferred and common stock, convertible debt and senior and subordinated debt with warrants. During his career, he has raised in excess of $30 billion for clients through the sale of traditional and pre−IPO private placements and PIPE and Registered Direct offerings. In addition, Mr. Colbert oversaw the combination of private placement groups acquired though the mergers of JP Morgan, Chase Securities and Hambrecht & Quist and grew the group substantially during his tenure.

“We are delighted by the addition of Norm to our partnership and look forward to the leadership role he will be assuming in our capital markets and private placements practice areas,” commented John Prunier, partner at Petsky Prunier. “In spite of current market conditions, Petsky Prunier continues to invest in talent and in the growth of our firm. This is a major step in the significant expansion of our capital markets and private placements fundraising activities with entrepreneurs and corporate executives, private equity and venture capital investors and alternative funding sources. With Norm leading our West Coast investment banking efforts, we will also have greater resources to support our relationships across the country.”

From 1995 though 1999, Mr. Colbert rose to managing director and head of Equity Private Placements at Hambrecht & Quist (H&Q), prior to that firm’s acquisition by Chase Bank (now JP Morgan). While at H&Q, Mr. Colbert grew the Private Placements group from four to 15 professionals and increased group revenue more than 12 times. Prior to joining H&Q, Mr. Colbert held positions at Bank of America Securities and LaSalle Partners.

Mr. Colbert holds a B.A. in economics (with distinction and Phi Beta Kappa) from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. (with distinction and Beta Gamma Sigma) from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

“I am impressed with Petsky Prunier’s growth and commitment to its clients. The firm has built a leading market position in its areas of focus and has been successful in closing transactions in both good and challenging market environments, a reflection of the firm’s experience, focus and responsiveness to clients’ needs,” said Norm Colbert. “I look forward to joining Petsky Prunier and leading the firm’s capital markets and private placements practice and West Coast investment banking efforts. I expect us to continue to grow our strong position in both equity and debt financings.”
