OCR Canada Ltd, a provider of automated identification data capture solutions based in Markham, Ontario, has been acquired by Barcodes Inc. The financial details of the transaction were not published. Barcodes, a provider of barcode, point of sale, ID card and mobile computing products, said the acquisition will expand its presence into Canada and add to its North American field sales and integration capabilities. Headquartered in Chicago, Barcodes was purchased by U.S. private equity firm Cortec Group in 2012.
