PRESS RELEASE
Paris, January 23rd 2020. Trescal Group, the specialist in calibration services, announces four acquisitions.
Trescal expands its geographical coverage within the Asia-Pacific region with the acquisition of Korea Testing Instruments Calibration Center (KTICC) in South Korea and IPAC Solutions in Australia, broadens its offering in Brazil with Instituto Amazonense de Metrologia (IAM) and adds a 3D contactless measurement capability with the acquisition of Physical Digital in the UK.
Guillaume Caroit, Trescal CEO, explains: “These acquisitions reflect our strategy to support our clients around the world and our goal is to triple our size in the APAC countries by 2022 and to continue with the consolidation of the US market.” Since its acquisition by OMERS in April 2018, Trescal Group has made 21 acquisitions to accelerate its international development strategy.
Founded in 1982, KTICC employs 57 people and has a turnover of 5.3 million euros. Based in Seoul and accredited by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme, the laboratory has developed expertise in fibre optics, electrical (DC/LF/RF), gas detection, dimensional and temperature.
IPAC Solutions was founded in 1988, employs 41 people across 3 sites (Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane) and has a turnover of 6.1 million euros. IPAC Solutions services clients from the food and life sciences industries and its main technical fields are temperature, humidity, pressure and flow, mostly carried out on- site. This latest acquisition is complementarity with ACS, the first acquisition made by Trescal in Australia in May 2019, and further strengthens the group’s single-source offering on the Australian market.
The acquisition of IAM, created in 1997 and located in Manaus, solidifies the position of Trescal in the Amazonas State following the acquisition of Setting in June 2019. IAM employs 16 people and has a turnover of 0.5 million euros. It provides in-house and on-site metrology services in seven accredited parameters.
Founded in 2005 in Guildford, Physical Digital specialises in 3D contactless measurement for the automotive, energy and aerospace sectors. It is the first company in the world to be accredited by NADCAP, a project in collaboration with the United States for quality assurance in the aerospace and defence sectors. The company employs 12 people and has a turnover of 1.2 million euros.
