Pala Investments has beefed up its investment team with two new hires. Joining are Jessica Fung as head of research and Justin Cochrane who will be working on streaming and structured finance. Previously, Fung worked at BMO Capital Markets while Cochrane is a former executive vice president of corporate development at Sandstorm Gold Ltd.

Jessica Fung, Head of Research
Jessica joins Pala following eight years with investment bank BMO Capital Markets as their lead Commodities Strategist, where she held primary responsibility for developing the bank’s commodity research as well as generating commodity calls and investment recommendations for the bank’s clients. Jessica will oversee Pala’s research efforts, assisting in developing commodity views and investment strategies to underpin both Pala’s Liquid Investments Strategies fund and Pala’s core Private Equity investments.
Justin Cochrane, Streaming and Structured Finance
Justin will support Pala’s efforts in structuring streaming and royalty transactions as part of Pala’s structured finance offering to its investee companies. Justin is an Executive of Duke Royalty Limited and was Executive Vice President, Corporate Development at Sandstorm Gold Ltd between 2010 and 2015, holding primary responsibility for sourcing, negotiating and executing royalty and stream transactions in the precious and base metals sectors globally, prior to which Justin was with National Bank Financial for nine years in their investment banking division.
