Pantheon Boosts Euro Secondaries Team

Francesco di Valmarana has joined the European secondaries team of Pantheon as a principal. He previously was with Unigestion.

Pantheon, a leading global private equity funds-of-funds investor, has recruited Francesco di Valmarana to its London-based European Secondaries team in response to increasing dealflow in the secondaries market.

Francesco, who has joined as a Principal, was previously an investment director at Swiss alternative asset management firm Unigestion, where he managed the firm’s global secondaries programme. Prior to this, he was a partner and co-founder of pan-European venture capital firm, DN Capital, following three years at global private equity house Advent International.

Elly Livingstone, Head of Pantheon’s Global Secondaries team, said: “The secondaries market is growing in sophistication.  Experienced global players with in-depth knowledge of funds across all the major geographic markets will thrive in conditions where rapid response and innovative structuring are vital. Francesco’s appointment boosts our Global Secondaries team to 25 investment professionals and complements our substantial investment experience in this market.”

Pantheon was an early pioneer of the secondaries market in Europe through the 1980s and has a 22-year track record as a global secondaries investor. The firm has committed in excess of US$4.5 billion to this segment of the market in over 250 transactions.
