Access, which is backed by Berkshire Partners, has acquired Montaña & Associates, a provider of information governance consulting. No financial terms were disclosed.
WOBURN, Mass. April 2, 2019 – Access, the largest privately-held records and information management (RIM) services provider in the world, today announced the acquisition of Montaña & Associates, a leader in information governance (IG) consulting that specializes in retention policy and schedule creation, and holistic IG support including compliance and data privacy. Montaña & Associates delivers advice, services and software for information governance, enabling many Fortune 1000 companies to improve their global compliance thereby reducing their risk.
Specifically, Montaña & Associates provides services such as audit, assessment and benchmarks for IG programs, and builds off those diagnostics to create and optimize programs for better risk management. Based on the IG roadmaps they create with their clients, Montaña & Associates help implement and rollout programs across the globe to ensure efficacy and adoption.
In addition, Montaña and Associates offers LexiTrac, a cloud-based software application that enables quick and accurate creation of global retention policies and schedules to help ensure clients are keeping their documents for the period of time prescribed by the regulations and laws in the countries in which they operate. LexiTrac is powered by a comprehensive global regulatory knowledgebase compiled by Montaña & Associates legal and compliance experts.
