PE-backed BluEarth acquires Tyson Creek Hydro Facility

BluEarth Renewables Inc, a renewable power producer focused on wind, water and solar projects, has acquired Tyson Creek Hydro Facility. The financial terms of the transaction were not released. Tyson Creek is a 9.3 megawatt facility located north of Sechelt, British Columbia. The facility was developed by Renewable Power Corp. Based in Calgary, BluEarth is a portfolio company of Canadian private equity firm ARC Financial Corp and Teachers’ Private Capital, an investment arm of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. Last year, ARC and Teachers invested an additional $81 million in the business.
