


Canadian transportation services provider Canada Cartage has closed its previously announced purchase of Vanguard Global Services Inc. The financial terms of the transaction were not published. The company said the addition of Vanguard brings supplementary transportation management expertise and technology to its logistics portfolio. Based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Cartage has been backed by U.S. private equity firm Nautic Partners since 2007.

Canada Cartage Completes Acquisition of Vanguard Global Services
Combined companies will provide complete asset and non-asset based transportation solutions to North American companies.
WireService.ca Press Release (01/08/2015) Mississauga, ON – Canada Cartage, the country’s largest asset-based fleet outsourcing provider, announced today the completion of the acquisition of Mississauga-based Vanguard Global Services Inc. The acquisition was previously announced on December 15, 2014. Vanguard is a third-party logistics firm that has been providing innovative, customized supply chain solutions to Canadian and U.S. companies since 1999.
The addition of Vanguard to the Canada Cartage group of companies brings additional transportation management expertise and leading-edge technology to the company’s logistics portfolio. Canada Cartage will now be able to deliver national fleet outsourcing, warehousing and distribution through their Direct Distribution Centres division, and complete third-party transportation management in both Canada and the U.S. through Vanguard.
