SRS Distribution Inc, a portfolio company of Berkshire Partners LLC, has acquired Reading, Pennsylvania-based Kohl Building Products, a regional distributor of roofing and other complementary building materials. No financial terms were disclosed. Generational Equity advised Kohl on the deal.
DALLAS, Nov. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Generational Equity, a leading mergers and acquisitions advisor for privately held businesses, is pleased to announce the sale of its client, Kohl Building Products, to SRS Distribution Inc., a portfolio company of Berkshire Partners LLC. The acquisition closed April 28, 2017. Details were not disclosed.
Kohl Building Products, based in Reading, Pennsylvania, is a family-owned regional distributor of roofing and other complementary building materials that serves Central Pennsylvania and Maryland through its eight locations. Co-owners Tom and Deb Kearse, along with Kohl’s sales and operations team, will remain with the company.
SRS Distribution, based in McKinney, Texas, is a private roofing distribution holding company sponsored by Berkshire Partners. With the acquisition of Kohl, SRS has over 180 locations across 41 states operating under 18 unique brand names.
Generational Equity’s Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions Fred Zweifel successfully closed the deal. Edward Weber, Executive Managing Director with Generational Equity, established the initial relationship with Kohl.
