Privcap Media scores $1.3 mln

New York City-based digital media firm Privcap Media has raised $1.3 million in funding. The investors included Noson Lawen Partners.


NEW YORK, Sept. 29, 2014 – Privcap Media, the leading digital communications company serving the private capital markets, has closed a round of investment capital to support its continued growth.

The financing round, Privcap’s second, drew $1.3 million from institutional and individual investors. Since its launch in September 2011, Privcap has raised a total of $1.8 million.

Privcap will use the new funds to expand its editorial and sales team as well as develop a series of industry events. The company recently completed the construction of a studio in Midtown Manhattan, where it will produce video programs for its global audience as well as customized media assets for clients.

Every week, Privcap Media offers new video programs and digital publications via two online channels: (private equity) and PrivcapRE (private real estate). These editorial programs offer sponsorship opportunities and are available at tiered subscription levels, from free to premium to enterprise-­‐wide license.

Privcap is best-­‐known for its “talk-­‐show” style interviews and panel discussions, delivering long-­‐form, engaging commentary to investors around the world. The platform’s growth coincides with the increasing maturity and complexity of the private capital asset classes, as well as with the need for managers to better explain their value creation strategies and specialized capabilities to investors, influential intermediaries, and other market participants.

On December 11, Privcap will host its first industry event, Energy Game Change, in Houston, bringing together institutional investors, investment managers and energy executives to discuss the transformed North American energy opportunity. Confirmed speakers include: former CIA director James Woolsey, Mexico’s Commissioner of the National Hydrocarbons Commission Dr. Guillermo Dominguez, Robert Edwards, managing director of NGP Energy Capital, Michael McMahon, managing director of Pine Brook and James Hofmeister, former president of Shell Oil.
