Chicago-based PSP Capital, a private investment firm, has named Greg Byrnes as managing director and Tom Wyler as senior vice president for global strategy and business development. Previously, Byrnes was a partner at Moorad Sports Partners while Wyler was a counselor to the secretary and senior adviser for international economics at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Chicago, IL (February 27, 2018) – PSP Capital (“PSP”), the Chicago-based private investment firm founded by Penny Pritzker, is pleased to announce the additions of Greg Byrnes and Tom Wyler to its investment team.
Greg Byrnes joined PSP as Managing Director and will lead the firm’s investment activities in Manufacturing, Distribution and Industrial Services. Prior to joining PSP, Greg was a Partner at Moorad Sports Partners. Previously, Greg served as a Managing Director at both Deutsche Bank and Keybanc Capital Markets, leading investment banking coverage and execution assignments for a number of industrial verticals. He began his career as a corporate and securities attorney. Greg earned an undergraduate degree from Princeton University and a J.D./M.B.A. from Georgetown University.
Tom Wyler joined PSP as Senior Vice President for Global Strategy and Business Development, and is responsible for working across PSP deal teams and portfolio companies to identify, develop, and support investment opportunities in the U.S. and markets around the world. Prior to joining PSP, Tom served as Counselor to the Secretary and Senior Advisor for International Economics at the U.S. Department of Commerce. He was previously an attorney with Debevoise & Plimpton, on the staff of John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign, and an aide to a U.S. Senator. Tom received his J.D. with honors from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his Master of Arts from The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
The addition of Greg and Tom follows several years of strong investment activity, including a new PSP Capital platform company in 2017 and six new investments by PSP Growth, the firm’s venture & growth equity investment strategy led by Mike Oleshansky.
