Richard McLaughlin Joins Merlin Media

Richard McLaughlin has joined Merlin Media as a senior director of digital programming. McLaughlin recently served as digital program director at Clear Channel Radio. GTCR, in partnership with Emmis Communications, formed Merlin Media in June to buy radio stations in Chicago and New York.

Merlin Media, a new multimedia, multiplatform company, announced today the addition of Richard McLaughlin as Senior Director of Digital Programming and Marketing. In this new role, McLaughlin will provide leadership and strategic guidance to the company’s digital marketing efforts, build innovative digital marketing strategies, and work closely with the programming team to develop integrated digital elements for Merlin Media’s roster of personalities and shows.

Most recently, McLaughlin served as Digital Program Director at Clear Channel Radio, where he oversaw the creation and programming of digital content platforms for the iheartradio network, which includes 800+ radio station websites. Prior to joining Clear Channel, McLaughlin spent nearly seven years as a Program Director at Sirius Satellite Radio. In 2008, Edison Media Research honored McLaughlin with their 30 Under 30 Award, given to the top 30 radio professionals under 30 years of age. Last year McLaughlin earned an Executive MBA from Fordham University.
