(CHICAGO, IL and PHOENIX, AZ—March 19, 2020) Rush Street Capital today announced it has named John Waller as a Partner. Waller will oversee the firm’s mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory services and lead coverage of its Diversified Industrial sector. Waller, the Founder of Plaisance Advisors, is a specialist in representing lower middle market companies in buy- and sell-side transactions. He brings deep industry knowledge, extensive national and global M&A expertise, and significant relationships to Rush Street Capital’s operations.
“We’ve determined that building our M&A capabilities is a valuable way to expand our capital markets services, and John’s expertise helps put us in a strong position to accomplish this,” said Phil Kain, Managing Partner and Founder of Rush Street Capital. “John and I have spent our careers in this industry. By combining our knowledge and skills we will be able to serve our clients at an even higher level than we currently do.”

He possesses extensive experience advising companies on acquisition search programs and has completed multiple transactions for underperforming companies, including corporate restructurings using the bankruptcy code.
“A mutual client introduced me to Phil and the Rush Street team, and I was immediately impressed with their stellar reputation, rapid growth and roster of high-quality clients,” said Waller. “Combining Rush Street’s debt and equity raising capabilities with my three decades of experience in providing M&A services will certainly benefit our clients.”
Prior to founding Plaisance Advisors in 2008, Waller worked in investment banking at Lincoln International and Credit Suisse, and public accounting with KPMG. He holds an MBA with concentrations in Finance and International Business from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
