Sand Hill Angels Invests over $2.3m in 2011

Silicon Valley angel investor group Sand Hill Angels has invested over $2.3 million in 2011, consisting of 7 new investments and several follow-on investments. Portfolio companies include Clean Power Finance, Global Fresh Foods, Liftopia, X-Graph and OncoHealth.

Sand Hill Angels announced today that it has invested over $ 2.3 million in 2011, consisting of 7 new investments and several follow-on investments. In all instances, Sand Hill Angels led or co-invested alongside other angel groups, as well as private and institutional venture partners. This underscores the growing trend of angel investor groups joining forces to fund innovative, early-stage companies.

“We seek to syndicate in our sweet spot of $ 1-3 million pre-money valuation, and a typical funding round of $ 500K-2M, where we co-invest with others. We often are the lead investor and get referrals from other angel groups, and similarly, we introduce entrepreneurs to appropriate co-investor angel groups. We received validation by major new investors in our portfolio companies, several steps-up in valuation, and an exit in 2011. Some examples include Clean Power Finance, Global Fresh Foods, Liftopia, X-Graph and OncoHealth. Several other companies achieved important milestones,” said Sherman Ting, President of the Sand Hill Angels Board.
