Scott Klein To Run Idearc

Scott Klein has been named CEO of Idearc Inc. (NYSE: IAR), a multi-platform provider of advertising solutions. He has been an operating partner with Symphony Technology Group since late last year and, before that, spent four years and president and CEO of Information Resources Inc.


Idearc Inc. (IAR) announced the appointment of Scott W. Klein as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Klein, 50, also becomes a member of the Idearc Board of Directors. Frank P. Gatto, who has served as interim Chief Executive Officer since February 27, 2008, resumes his position at Idearc as Executive Vice President � Operations.

In late 2007, Klein became an operating partner of Symphony Technology Group, a private equity investment firm. Previously, as President and CEO for four years, he led the successful turnaround and reinvention of Symphony’s flagship acquisition, Information Resources, Inc. (IRI), a global provider of real-time market information solutions, analytics and performance management technology.

Before that, Klein was President of the Consumer Industries, Retail & Energy business for Electronic Data Systems Corporation (NYSE: EDS). Prior to EDS, Klein was President of PC Mall, Inc. (NASDAQ: MALL), a California-based telesales, catalog, and Internet reseller of information technology products. While there, he successfully launched, a premier business-to-business and business-to-consumer online retailer of computer products and consumer electronics. Klein was a co-founder of PrimeSource Building Products, Inc. and served as Chief Operating Officer while the company grew from $12 million to nearly $1 billion.

Originally from Floral Park, New York, Klein is an honors accounting graduate of Syracuse University. He started his career with Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG) in brand management and later was Director of Marketing at PepsiCo (NYSE: PEP).
