SFW Capital Partners, a Rye, N.Y.-based middle-market private equity firm, has closed its debut fund with $300 million in capital commitments. The firm was founded by former AEA Investors pros Thomas Salice, Roger Freeman and Norm Wells, plus Casey Lynch (Parthenon Capital) and David Webb (Merrill Lynch's financial sponsors group).
SFW Capital Partners, a private equity firm that provides capital and support to mid-sized companies in select segments of the healthcare and high-value industrial sectors, today announced the successful closing of its private equity fund with commitments totaling over $300 million.
SFW partners have played integral roles as investors in the growth of such market-leading companies as Waters Corporation (NYSE:WAT), Mettler-Toledo International (NYSE: MTD), CasTech Aluminum Group, Easco, Inc., Manchester Tank & Equipment and Sovereign Specialty Chemicals.
SFW typically invests $15 to $75 million of equity to support the growth of mid-sized companies in its focus sectors, with a particular emphasis on measurement and diagnostics, highly-engineered industrial products, and related services. The firm invests in established companies including family businesses, public companies and corporate division carve-outs where there is some history of profitability and the company has a solid position in its core markets.
“We are pleased that the fund has attracted an outstanding group of investors,” said the partners of SFW. “Our deep understanding and extensive experience in our focus segments allows us to contribute well informed, relevant expertise to each company. Over the past 15 years, we have worked closely with the management teams of some of the most successful companies in these segments to develop growth strategies, improve operations and identify high potential add-on acquisitions. We believe our experience, network of relationships and focused investment approach will serve our investors well.”
SFW's investors include endowments, foundations, family offices and financial institutions. The CEOs, senior managers and industry executives that SFW partners have worked with in the past are collectively one of the largest investors in the fund. Several SFW investors have active co-invest and debt programs which provide significant additional resources for larger investments, add-on acquisitions and other capital programs.
