Shamrock Capital Advisors LLC, an alternative investment firm focused on middle-market media, entertainment and communications companies, has named Brian Barnum as an operating partner. Barnum’s past roles include serving as chief operating officer of Brighter Inc and chief financial officer/COO of The Rubicon Project.

LOS ANGELES, CA (January 17, 2017) — Shamrock Capital Advisors, LLC, an alternative investment firm focused on opportunities in middle market media, entertainment and communications, announced today that Brian Barnum has joined the firm as Operating Partner.

Prior to joining Shamrock, Mr. Barnum held numerous senior executive roles for privately held media, communications and technology companies including COO of Brighter, Inc., COO/CFO of The Rubicon Project, COO/CFO of Business.com, President of Dex Media’s digital businesses after it acquired Business.com, CFO of Rent.com, and CFO of Transaction Network Services. Preceding his roles as an operating executive, Mr. Barnum worked at investment banks Bankers Trust Company and Alex. Brown & Sons.
