Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP has named Ravi Purohit as a partner in the law firm's energy and infrastructure practice.

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP has named Ravi Purohit as a partner in the law firm’s energy and infrastructure practice. Most recently, Purohit was a managing director at Blackstone Infrastructure Partners and prior to that, a managing director at Alinda Capital Partners. Purohit will be based in Houston.


Houston/New York—March 24, 2020—Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP today announced that Ravi Purohit has joined the Firm’s Energy and Infrastructure Practice as a Partner in Houston.
Ravi focuses on the energy and infrastructure sector, advising strategic and institutional investor clients on mergers and acquisitions, asset sales and joint ventures, as well as other general corporate and financing matters. He was most recently a Managing Director at Blackstone Infrastructure Partners and, prior to that, was a Managing Director at Alinda Capital Partners, an infrastructure investment firm.

Ravi received his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2003, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He received a B.A. from Emory University, with honors, in 2000 and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Ravi currently serves on the Board of Visitors for Columbia Law School and the Board of Directors of South Asian Youth Action, a non-profit youth development organization.
