Spur Capital expands team with two new hires

Oklahoma-based Spur Capital Partners, a venture capital funds-of-funds manager, has named Matt Horten and Kevin Moore as partners. Previously, Horten worked at WSS Holdings where he was the chief investment officer while Moore is the former director of angel investments and venture adviser at i2E.

Bartlesville, OK, March 1, 2018– Spur Capital Partners is proud to announce and welcome Matt Horten and Kevin Moore as Partners to the firm.

Matt Horten has 18 years’ experience in the financial industry with over a decade in private equity and venture capital and joins Spur from WSS Holdings, a family office, where he was the chief investment officer. Prior to the family office, Matt was a partner for nine years at Adams Street Partners in Chicago where he worked on portfolio construction, investor relations, research, due diligence, risk modeling and proprietary software for all aspects of private market portfolios. Matt has held additional roles with JP Morgan, Thomson Financial and is a graduate of Westminster College.

Kevin Moore has over 11 years’ experience in the financial industry and joins Spur from i2E, an early-stage investment firm, where he was the Director of Angel Investments and Venture Advisor. While at i2E, Kevin was responsible for raising and managing one of i2E’s investment funds, Oklahoma Angel Fund I, and working closely with technology and healthcare startups. For the past three years, Kevin has served on the Investment Committee for the Oklahoma Teacher’s Retirement System which is responsible for fund asset allocation and selecting investment managers. Kevin has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from the University of Central Oklahoma.
