Star Mountain hires York Street Capital co-founders Golding and Layden

Star Mountain Capital has hired the York Street Capital Partners team, including co-heads and co-founders Robert Golding and Christopher Layden. Golding and Layden sourced and underwrote more than $750 million of investments over the past decade and participated in more than $4 billion in credit investments during their careers. Golding and Layden join an expanding group of senior partners at Star Mountain.

Golding and Christopher A. Layden who built a successful credit investment firm having sourced and underwritten over $750 million of investments over the past decade and having participated in over $4 billion in credit investments during their careers.

Prior to York Street, Mr. Golding was a Managing Director and the Group Head of Corporate Finance at the CIT Group and was responsible for investing over $1.4 billion in 57 sponsored and non-sponsored transactions. Former Managing Director and Group Head of Structured Finance at AT&T Capital Corporation (subsequently acquired by Newcourt Capital and CIT) and was responsible for investing approximately $1 billion in debt and equity, primarily in the transportation and manufacturing industries. Mr. Golding also worked at Salomon Brothers, Merrill Lynch and the Irving Trust Company.

Prior to York Street, Mr. Layden was a former Senior Director of Corporate Finance at the CIT Group and was responsible for investing over $950 million in 48 sponsored and non-sponsored transactions. Former Director in the Structured Finance Group at AT&T Capital Corporation (subsequently acquired by Newcourt Capital and CIT) and was responsible for investing approximately $700 million of debt and equity, primarily in the transportation and manufacturing industries. Mr. Layden also worked in the credit and collection groups of R.H. Donnelley Corporation and Xerox Credit Corp.

Brian Finn – Star Mountain’s Chairman of the Compensation Committee and former CEO of Credit Suisse USA and Global Head of Alternative Assets where he oversaw over $100 billion in alternative investment strategies. Mr. Finn is also a Strategic Advisor to KKR.

Gene Martin – Star Mountain Investment Committee Member. Former Co-Head of Leveraged & Acquisition Finance and Chairman of the High Yield Underwriting Committee at Morgan Stanley through which he participated in nearly $500 billion in credit investments.

Ryan McGovern – Star Mountain Managing Director and Investment Committee Member. Former Partner at Ember Capital, a private credit fund management business spin-out of Nomura with over $500 million in senior and mezzanine investments, and former investment professional at MezzVest, an AIG-sponsored European mezzanine fund.

Rakesh Jain – Star Mountain Managing Director and Investment Committee Member. Former Founder & Managing Partner at Green Brook Capital Management LLC; Former Principal at Stone Tower Capital LLC ($2.5 billion private equity/special situations credit fund); Former Director of $10bn AUM Citigroup Alternative Investments.

Randall Kutch – Star Mountain Investment Committee Member and a Senior Investment Partner at Star Mountain SBIC portfolio fund, Bay Capital and former Director in the private equity and mezzanine fund and direct investments group at MetLife.

Harry Haskins – Star Mountain Investment Committee Member. Former Head Career Executive and Investment Committee member of the Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) program at the US Government’s Small Business Administration (SBA) overseeing approximately $18 billion in SBIC fund capital.

Diane Rinnovatore – Star Mountain Managing Director and Investment Partner. Former Co-Head of U.S. Securitized Products Origination at Barclays Capital. Prior to her role at Barclays, Ms. Rinnovatore held several leadership roles at Lehman Brothers including Head of U.S. Bank Debt Capital Markets and Head of Consumer Securitization Banking.
