Stefan Franssen Leaves Cinven for GMT

Stefan Franssen has joined GMT Communications Partners as a partner. He had spent the past eight years with Cinven.

GMT Communications Partners (“GMT”), the leading European independent private equity group focused exclusively on media, information, entertainment and telecommunications industries, is delighted to announce the appointment of Stefan Franssen as Partner. Stefan will take on a wide-ranging role across all aspects of deal origination, investment management and portfolio company oversight.

Stefan joins GMT having spent eight years in private equity at Cinven. While at Cinven he was a member of the TMT sector team with a focus on digital media, TV content and broadcast, outdoor media, publishing, market research, B2B / business information and cable. He brings extensive experience across all aspects of private equity transactions and portfolio management, including directorships at several portfolio companies, as well as relevant specific industry knowledge. Prior to Cinven, Stefan worked in M&A at Merrill Lynch and as a consultant at Gemini Consulting.

A German national, Stefan studied at the Technical University of Berlin (Diplom Ingenieur, Wirtschaftingenuerwesen) and at the École Supérieure de Commerce in Paris (Diplôme de l’ESCP). He is also fluent in English, French and Spanish.
