Stella Environmental Services Makes First Strategic Acquisition

Stella Environmental Services has acquired the Dallas/Fort Worth waste transfer station operation of Kephart Trucking Company. Texas-based Stella Environmental Services manages the logistics and operation of MSW transfer stations, which are processing facilities that accept residential and commercial waste. This is the company’s first strategic acquisition.

Stella Environmental Services, LLC, a leading Texas-based, municipal solid waste (“MSW”) transfer station management and transportation service provider, has announced today the acquisition of the Dallas/Fort Worth waste transfer station operation of Kephart Trucking Company.

Stella Environmental Services manages the logistics and operation of MSW transfer stations, which are processing facilities that accept residential and commercial waste. At these facilities, the waste is aggregated into larger, more efficient tractor-trailer loads and delivered to landfills or other ultimate disposal sites. This is the Company’s first strategic acquisition, provides Stella Environmental Services access to a key market and will help build their business significantly over the next several years.

In February 2012, Aperion Management, LLC, a New York-based, middle-market private equity investment firm, teamed with management to acquire the MSW transfer station management and transportation business of Sprint Logistics, LP. Comerica Bank and Triangle Capital provided the financing for the initial buyout.
