Strategic Polymer Sciences Raises $3 Million

Strategic Polymer Sciences Inc., a State College, Pa.-based commercializer of polymeric electronic materials and devices for energy storage and medical therapeutics, has raised $3 million in Series A funding. Chengwei Ventures and Life Sciences Greenhouse of Pennsylvania co-led the round, and were joined by Ben Franklin Technology Partners and Wilson Sonsini Ventures.

Strategic Polymer Sciences, Inc. (SPS) has announced it has closed a Series A funding round of $3 million in venture capital from a consortium of investors. 

 

Strategic Polymer Sciences is an early-stage startup company created to commercialize polymeric electronic materials and devices that will revolutionize energy storage and medical therapeutics.   

 

“We will use the investment to accelerate the development of manufacturing processes for our electroactive polymers and cardiac ablation catheters,” said Ralph Russo, co- founder, president and CEO of Strategic Polymer Sciences.  “Both of these technology platforms fit our corporate goal of enabling technology to improve the quality of living.”

 

The financing will enable SPS to speed the commercialization of next-generation, ultrahigh energy density capacitors
