Shawn Collins, Thomas McCaffrey and Hank Weiss have joined Susquehanna Financial Group, as part of the special situations sales team. They previously were part of Citi’s Event Driven team.

Susquehanna Financial Group, LLLP (SFG) today announced the addition of Shawn Collins, Thomas McCaffrey, and Hank Weiss to SFG’s Sales team, based in New York City. Their expertise lies in special situation transactions. They will report to Aaron Hantman, Global Head of Institutional Sales.
Mr. Collins, Mr. McCaffrey, and Mr. Weiss are joining SFG from Citi where they served on the company’s Event Driven team. Mr. McCaffrey and Mr. Weiss have already joined SFG and Mr. Collins will start in approximately two weeks.
“We see the current market conditions as an opportunity to continue to build out our team to meet the demands of our customers,” said Mr. Hantman. “There’s no doubt that the exceptional backgrounds of Mr. Collins, Mr. McCaffrey, and Mr. Weiss will greatly add to our business.”
Mr. Collins joins SFG after his tenure as Head of Event Driven Research at Citi. He began his career at Citigroup (Salomon Brothers) in the corporate finance group. Previously, he was at Allen & Company with its proprietary risk arbitrage group and at UBS in the leveraged finance group. Mr. Collins holds a BA in Economics from Boston University and an MBA from Columbia University.
Mr. McCaffrey served as part of the Event Driven sales, trading, and research team at Citi. Prior to that, he worked on the risk arbitrage desk at Wachovia Securities. He holds a BA in Psychology from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
Mr. Weiss was formerly Head of Event Driven Sales Trading at Citi. He began his career at Cathay Financial and also worked on the risk arbitrage desk at Credit Suisse First Boston. Mr. Weiss holds a BS in Economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Georgetown University.
