T-Venture invests in database

T-Venture, the venture capital company of Deutsche Telekom, has backed German software company sones in a second round of financing.

No exact figure was revealed other than it was a single-digit million amount. The money was invested through the €100m T-Online Venture Fund, a 2001 fund focused on the media and internet companies.

Sones was founded in 2007 and specializes in database technology – it has developed an ‘object-oriented database’ which enables users to find information from complex unstructured data volumes. Such technology means problems that had been unsolvable due to their sheer complexity in the areas of data storage and data analysis are now under control.
