Thomas King Joins KeyBanc’s Financial Sponsors Group

Thomas King has joined KeyBanc Capital Markets as a managing director in the firm’s financial sponsors group. He previously was with CIT Investment Banking Services, where he focused on M&A.

KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc., the corporate and investment banking arm of KeyCorp (NYSE:KEY), announced today that Thomas N. King has joined the firm as managing director within its financial sponsors group.

Mr. King will be based in Chicago and will lead Key’s financial sponsor coverage efforts. He will be responsible for the relationship management, as well as the origination and execution of investment banking, M&A advisory and leveraged finance transactions for middle market private equity sponsors.

Mr. King brings extensive experience originating and executing M&A and financing transactions on behalf of private equity sponsor groups.  Prior to joining Key, he was a managing director with CIT Investment Banking Services, where he was a founding member of the firm’s entry into M&A, and previously served in the advisory groups of Salomon Brothers and Stifel Nicolaus.

“The addition of Tom in Chicago represents an important next step in the continued build-out of our financial sponsor coverage effort” said Andrew R. Porter, formerly of Jefferies & Company, as a managing director to lead the firm’s East Coast sponsor coverage efforts.  “I look forward to working with Tom and Chris as we expand our business with financial sponsors going forward.  Their relationships and M&A advisory skills will enhance our position as a trusted advisor to our private equity clients.”

Mr. King earned a BA in Economics from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA from the J.L.
