Top Tier Raises $310M Toward New Venture Fund of Funds

Top Tier Capital Partners is closing in on its $400 million target for a new fund of funds to invest in venture capital.

The San Francisco firm has raised $310 million for Top Tier Venture Capital VI, according to a pair of filings on Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In the first filing, Top Tier said it raised $156,060,606 for Top Tier Venture Capital VI and has another $43,939,394 of securities to sell toward a goal of $200 million. The fund had its first sale in May 2012.

A second filing for Top Tier Venture Capital VI-B says the firm has raised $154,191,606 toward a $200 million goal and has $45,808,394 remaining to be sold. The closing on the capital took place this month.

The firm’s fund raising continues, sources say.

Top Tier’s managing directors include Lisa Edgar, Daniel Townsend, Philip Paul and David York.
