TowerBrook Gets Restaurant Consultant

Anthony Wedo has agreed to serve as a consultant to TowerBrook Capital Partners, with a focus on opportunities in the restaurant sector. Wedo is a former PepsiCo executive who subsequently founded Mid-Atlantic Restaurant Systems. He has spent the past four years as CEO of Mainline Management and Capital Advisors LLC.

TowerBrook Capital Partners, L.P. (“TowerBrook”), a New York and London-based private equity firm, today announced it has entered into a consulting agreement with experienced restaurant executive Anthony Wedo. Mr. Wedo will work with TowerBrook on potential investment opportunities in the restaurant sector on behalf of TowerBrook and its affiliates and funds under management. An industry veteran with more than twenty years of experience, Mr. Wedo has developed new restaurants in every major market area in the U.S. and has led the turnaround of a variety of businesses, in both the QSR and Fast Casual segments of the industry.

 

Mr. Wedo began his career at PepsiCo, eventually becoming Vice President and General Manager of the Southeast Division of KFC and overseeing more than 1,200 restaurants, 7,000 employees and $1 billion in revenue. In 1993, after six years with PepsiCo, Mr. Wedo founded Mid-Atlantic Restaurant Systems, Inc. As Chairman, President and CEO, he grew the company over a four-year period to 160 stores generating annualized sales in excess of $250 million becoming Boston Markets largest and most successful Area Developer. Mid-Atlantic was ultimately acquired by Boston Market, Inc. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Wedo held the position of Chairman, President and CEO of New World Restaurant Group. New World, with approximately 1,000 units and $750 million in system revenues, operated six separate brands including Einstein Bros, Noah's and Manhattan Bagel. Mr. Wedo has spent the past four years as CEO of Mainline Management and Capital Advisors, LLC, providing M&A advisory and executive management consulting services to professional equity and debt sponsors.
