TPH Partners Names Lewis Chairman

TPH Partners has named Richard H. Lewis chairman of TPH Partners II, L.P., a partnership focused on investments in the middle market of the upstream, midstream, and oilfield services sectors of the energy industry. Lewis is currently a member of the Board of Directors of MDU Resources Group Inc. and Colorado State Bank & Trust. He is also chairman of Entre Pure Industries, Inc., a privately held company involved in the purified water and ice business.

TPH Partners is pleased to announce that Richard (Dick) H. Lewis has accepted the role of Chairman of TPH Partners II, L.P. (TPH Partners II), a partnership that is focused on private investment opportunities in the middle market of the upstream, midstream, and oilfield services sectors of the energy industry.

Dick Lewis founded Prima Energy Corporation (Prima) in 1980 as a private start-up and served as its Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President until the sale of the company in 2004. Prima was involved in oil and natural gas exploration and development, natural gas gathering and marketing, and oilfield service activities in the Rocky Mountain region. Over its history, Prima delivered outstanding year-on-year returns to its shareholders.

 

In 2001, Mr. Lewis was selected as a recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, and in 2004 was an inaugural inductee into the Rocky Mountain Oil & Gas Hall of Fame. He is also a past president of the Colorado Oil & Gas Association.

 

Lewis is currently a member of the Board of Directors of MDU Resources Group, Inc. and Colorado State Bank & Trust. He is Chairman of Entre Pure Industries, Inc., a privately held company involved in the purified water and ice business, and is the Managing General Partner of Brakemaka LLLP, a private family investment partnership. Dick is also Chairman of the Development Board of Colorado UpLIFT and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Alliance for Choice in Education.

 

Prior to founding Prima, Mr. Lewis worked in private practice as a certified public accountant. He graduated from the University of Colorado with a BS in finance and accounting.

 

Joe B. Foster will continue to serve as Chairman of TPH Partners, L.P., a partnership that has invested in six portfolio companies across the upstream, midstream, and oilfield services sub-sectors since formation in 2008, and will serve as a Senior Advisor to TPH Partners II.
