“It’s great to be back in the travel space, and especially to have the support of such quality firms and individuals,” said founder and CEO, J.R. Johnson. “There is a huge opportunity to lead the next wave of innovation in travel, and Trippy is primed to do just that.”
Trippy is a friend-sourced solution to the long-standing problem of untrustworthy and irrelevant travel content, helping you travel better. Trippy taps into already-existing networks of friends and family through social media sites like Facebook to get tips from the people who already know the traveler’s personal details (if they’re vegan or traveling with kids, etc.). The company was founded by J.R. Johnson, a pioneer in the online travel space, having had his first travel site, VirtualTourist, acquired by Expedia in 2008.
